“I want to start a black metal band just so you can do the artwork for it.”
That’s how this idea all started.
I was picking up an order of Workhorse Photography hoodies from Donny Jenson of JENSON CREATIVE when he complimented me on my work and made that comment. I was flattered and inspired right then to do a shoot with a model in corpse paint.
Of course when it came time to bring this idea to life I reached out to the incredible model and makeup artist extraordinaire Dwella she did all of the makeup and styling for this shoot.
Black Metal music and imagery is known for being extremely stark, aggressive, and bleak. That was the feeling we were trying to create with these images. I love how some of them have an almost glam fashion sort of feel to them which takes a new direction with the classic ideas.
I don’t know if “Black Metal Vogue” is a thing, but I think we might have just made it one.
Be sure to check out JENSON CREATIVE for any of your screen printing and embroidery needs and Dwella if you need a model, makeup artist or to be inspired.
I hope you enjoy these images, thank you for looking!
